Is Whosly free?
Yes. Creating plans and RSVPing are always free, and the friends you invite never pay a cent. RSVP to as many plans as you're invited to — that part is never capped, on any account. A free account hosts up to 3 plans of your own at a time, and a slot frees up as soon as one of them is over, with the essentials — a live headcount, day-of updates, poll voting, Float it that auto-locks the time, Venmo cost-splitting, ticket tracking, your own places list, reminder texts, free Circles for your regular groups, and the free Essentials City Packs. One optional subscription, Planner Pro — $3.99 a month, or $29.99 a year with a 7-day free trial — unlocks your city: festivals, events and concerts, curated happy hours with their deals and times, and every City Pack we offer (Deep Cuts, Seasonal, cuisine and cocktail packs). It also lifts the hosting limit and adds place and topic polls, co-planners, Magic Plan itineraries, Who's Free? availability planning, and scheduled reminders.
Do my friends need to download the app to RSVP?
No. You text them one link and they RSVP in a single tap — iPhone or Android, no app and no account. They can even leave a comment that lands right in the plan's chat.
How is this different from a group chat?
A group chat gives you 200 unread messages and still no real answer. Whosly turns every maybe into a live headcount, lets everyone vote on the time or place and locks it in automatically, and keeps the chat, reminders, tickets, and who's arrived all on the plan — nothing buried in the thread.
Can I use it for events months out, and for big groups?
Both. Whether it's dinner tomorrow or a show months away, Whosly tracks every yes, maybe, and no the whole way and sends reminders as the day gets close. And it scales from a four-person dinner to a sixty-person party — the live headcount, +1 tracking, and face pile work either way.
What if we can't agree on a time or place?
Float it. Add a few options, everyone votes, and the plan locks in the winner on its own — so a plan that might've fizzled in the group chat actually happens. Float it and voting are both always free; polls on the place or anything else are part of Planner Pro.
Can I plan a surprise party with Whosly?
Yes — that's what Surprise mode is for. Turn it on while you're creating the plan and the plan hides itself everywhere it could give the secret away: notifications, calendar entries, the plans list, and link previews all just say “Whosly plan.” The people you invite see the real thing when they open the plan, along with a note that it's a surprise and what time to be there before the guest of honor walks in — and you can leave the guest of honor off the invite list in a tap. An hour after it starts the secret's out, and it goes back to being an ordinary plan on everyone's phone at once. Surprise mode is part of Planner Pro.
What is Magic Plan?
Magic Plan is an AI day-planner. Describe what you're in the mood for — by typing or just talking — and it builds a real, ordered itinerary from your saved places, with the timing worked out and reservation or ticket links on each stop. Swap any spot you like, or stretch a great day into a two-day trip, then turn the whole thing into a plan and invite everyone in a tap. Planner Pro includes one Magic Plan a month, and anyone can buy a credit pack for more.
What are City Packs and Seasonal Packs?
City Packs are curated lists of a city's best spots that drop straight into your places and onto the map — no typing, no searching. We're in select cities — not everywhere yet, with more on the way — and each one gets a free Essentials pack of 25 must-dos. Planner Pro adds Deep Cuts (50+ deeper local favorites), Seasonal Packs (the newest spots, refreshed each season), cuisine and cocktail packs — a 20-spot guide for each cuisine, plus the city's best cocktail bars — and, in Chicago and NYC, curated happy hours with their deals and times and the city's festivals and events, plus concerts in Chicago — each city's page on whosly.app/places shows what's in it.
Can I save a place I found on Instagram?
Yes — it's the fastest way to build your list. Tap Share on an Instagram post, a TikTok, a Maps link, or a restaurant's own website, pick Whosly, and the spot lands in your places already found on the map, with its category and neighborhood filled in. No typing and no copy-paste — and no AI guessing: if Whosly can't confidently tell which place a post is about, it says so rather than saving the wrong one.
Can I share my list of places with someone?
Yes, two ways. Invite people to a shared list and everyone adds to it together, or turn on a public link and send it to anyone — they open it in a browser with no app and no account, and can copy the spots they like into their own list. Lists have their own sorting, grouping by city, and category filters, and you can switch the public link off again whenever you want.
